Junior Open Water Diver
This is the first course available under PADI to achieve certification as an open water diver. It is the pre-requisite course for any further training. Armed with your Junior Open Water Diver card, the diving world is your oyster as the certification will be recognised at dive centers around the globe.
The course is presented over 4 to 5 days and consists of academics, several confined water sessions and four open water dives. Knowledge of basic diving theory is covered by video/ DVD and instructor presentations, diving skills are developed in the pool and on the final 2 days of the course, you complete 4 training dives under the supervision of your instructor. These dives take place to a maximum depth of 12 m on the beautiful reefs of the Mediterranean.

Exclusive Junior NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC Open Water Diver
As a NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC DIVER, you join an elite group of explorers, adventurers and conservationists. The insight and training you gain during this program will broaden your awareness and take your diving skills to a new level. You'll learn to observe and explore like an underwater scientist.
Your experience begins with the PADI Open Water Diver program, enhanced with adventures unique to the National Geographic Diver program. You will learn to explore with detail, identify important underwater features and navigate with certainty. You will have the diving knowledge and practice to maneuver with poise along the reef ’s ecosystems.
You’ll learn basic dive skills and safety information through the PADI Open Water Diver course.
You’ll be introduced to worldwide dive environments and opportunities by interacting with the National Geographic Diver Almanac and DVD.
- You’ll learn to fine-tune your buoyancy to hover easily and maneuver carefully through delicate aquatic habitats.
- You’ll learn how to observe your surroundings in order to get the best experience from each dive. You’ll gain practical experience by gathering information and collecting images to create a visual representation of a dive site, detailing what you’ve discovered through your observations.
- You’ll improve your navigation skills and ability to find your way around underwater by using a compass as well as natural references.
- You’ll be introduced to a multitude of aquatic species and be able to identify local plants and animals.

Exclusive Junior NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC Open Water Diver + Dry Suit Specialty Warm
This is the same course as described above with the difference that you will be introduced also in diving in a Dry Suit. Together with your Junior National Geographic Open Water Diver certification you gain in addition the Dry Suit Diver certification.
You will do an extra pool dive, a total of 6 dives in the sea and learn how to dive in a Dry Suit.

Junior Open Water Diver + Discover / Digital U/ W Photography Specialty HOT
This is the same course as described above with the difference that in addition you will get a theoretical and practical introduction in the Digital Underwater Photography. In dive 4 of your Open Water Diver course you will practise the new photo knowledge also under water. This program covers automatic photography without the use of artificial light. You will learn about the possibilities of a point-and-shoot camera, how to use manual white balance, ISO settings and colour correction filters.

After completion of your Junior Open Water Divers course you can also do an additional dive to complete your Digital U/ W Photography Specialty. Then you will also learn how to use histograms, about some important features of file-formats, resolution, picture composition, sorting and organizing.

Exclusive Upgrade Jr. Scuba Diver Jr. Open Water Diver/ NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC Jr. Open Water Diver
You are already PADI Junior Scuba Diver and now want to achieve certification as a NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC Junior Open Water Diver/ PADI Junior Open Water Diver. The course is presented over 1 to 2 days and consists of theory, one confined water sessions and three/ two open water dives.
Knowledge of basic diving theory of chapters 4 and 5 are covered in home studies, by video/ DVD and instructor presentations.
Diving skills will be refreshed and newly developed in the pool and on the final day of the course, you complete 3/ 2 training dives under the supervision of your instructor. These dives take place to a maximum depth of 12 m on the beautiful reefs of the Mediterranean.
